چکیده

Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) allows flexibility, scalability, agility, and easy manageability of networks by leveraging the features virtualization cloud computing technologies. However, softwarization network functions imposes many challenges. Reliability latency are major challenges in NFV-enabled 5G that can lead to customer dissatisfaction revenue loss. In general, redundancy is used improve reliability communication services. requires same amount additional resources thus increases cost. this work, we address reliability-aware, delay guaranteed, resource efficient Service Function Chain (SFC) placement problem softwarized networks. First, propose a novel SFC subchaining method enhance an without backups. If requirement not met after method, add backups VNFs meet requirement. Then, formulate reliable as Integer Linear Programming (ILP) order solve it optimally. Owing high computational complexity ILP for solving large input instances, modified stable matching algorithm provide near-optimal solution polynomial time. By extensive simulations show our proposed solutions consume lesser physical compared state-of-the-art provisioning

On Network Service Modeling in Softwarized Networks

The Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) architectures are composed of different functional blocks such as NFV Orchestrator, Virtualized Infrastructure Manager (VIM) and SDN controllers. These components are modeled as independent software with specific access, configuration, and management. They are connected mainly across of the Application Programming Inte...

Architecture for Guaranteed Delay Service in High Speed Networks

Title of Dissertation: Architecture for Guaranteed Delay Service in High Speed Networks Vinod Peris, Doctor of Philosophy, 1997 Dissertation directed by: Professor Armand Makowski Department of Electrical Engineering The increasing importance of network connections coupled with the lack of abundant link capacity suggests that the day when service guarantees are required by individual connection...

A Novel Protection Guaranteed, Quality of Transmission Aware Routing and Wavelength Assignment Algorithm for All-optical Networks

Transparent All Optical Networks carry huge traffic and any link failure can cause the loss of gigabits of data; hence protection and its guarantee becomes necessary at the time of failure. Many protection schemes were presented in the literature, but none of them speaks about protection guarantee. Also, in all optical networks, due to absence of  regeneration capabilities, the physical layer i...

Joint Energy Efficient and QoS-aware Path Allocation and VNF Placement for Service Function Chaining

Service Function Chaining (SFC) allows the forwarding of a traffic flow along a chain of Virtual Network Functions (VNFs, e.g., IDS, firewall, and NAT). Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions can be used to support SFC reducing the management complexity and the operational costs. One of the most critical issues for the service and network providers is the reduction of energy consumption, w...

An Incentive-Aware Lightweight Secure Data Sharing Scheme for D2D Communication in 5G Cellular Networks

Due to the explosion of smart devices, data traffic over cellular networks has seen an exponential rise in recent years. This increase in mobile data traffic has caused an immediate need for offloading traffic from operators. Device-to-Device(D2D) communication is a promising solution to boost the capacity of cellular networks and alleviate the heavy burden on backhaul links. However, dir...
